Immigration and security authorities detected irregularities in the documentation and statements of ten Colombian nationals who arrived at Guadalajara International Airport on a flight from Bogotá.
According to an official report, during interviews conducted by National Migration Institute personnel, the passengers provided inconsistent information regarding the purpose of their trip, their accommodation, and their planned activities in Mexico.
Authorities noted that several of the men held allegedly fake hotel reservations in the Guadalajara metropolitan area and that, despite initially claiming not to know one another, their itineraries and accommodation arrangements showed similarities.
One of the individuals identified himself as a former Colombian military member, while another reportedly stated he had been contacted to perform work involving drones. These details are part of the ongoing investigation and do not constitute confirmation of criminal activity.
The ten passengers were denied entry by Mexican immigration authorities and are awaiting return to Colombia.
The case prompted the involvement of the National Guard, the National Migration Institute, and other federal authorities, who are keeping the investigation open to determine whether there was any attempt at recruitment by criminal groups.
