During an interview on Azucena Uresti’s program on Grupo Fórmula, he questioned that if his brother, as a municipal official, was not granted security protection, what will happen to the general population.

The day before, Jorge Romero, national leader of the National Action Party (PAN), revealed with information from the family that Joel Bravo had requested protection from the state government, which was not provided.
However, the governor of Oaxaca, Salomón Jara Cruz, denied the situation and later corrected his statement hours afterward.
Given this, Saúl Bravo called for the case to be addressed, stating that his brother was a man with no personal problems with anyone and that society is fearful due to increasing insecurity in the region.
Brother of Joel Bravo confirms kidnapping and extortion
The brother of Joel Bravo also confirmed the kidnapping on May 6, stating that he was released but continued to be extorted with demands for money and material goods.
On May 15, he requested protection from the government of the State of Oaxaca during a Security Meeting.
In addition to Governor Salomón Jara, prosecutors from Oaxaca and Puebla were aware of the extortion that continued after his kidnapping, despite him being the municipal president of San Miguel Amatitlán.
