Due to the progressive deterioration of most trees in the Zumar Kalea median strip and the resulting increased risk to the public, the Durango City Council will fell 24 trees and plant 46 new ones, adhering to technical criteria established by specialists to ensure healthy, sustainable growth. The project has a budget of €158,980.
Developed by arboriculture specialists, the project aims primarily to replace trees in poor condition with new ones capable of reaching a medium-to-large size relatively quickly, thereby providing the street with the benefits associated with mature trees—such as shade, cooling, and environmental improvements.
