Desperation is mounting among patients, their families, and staff at the Salvador Zubirán Anchondo General Hospital, where high indoor temperatures have created conditions described as inhumane for those hospitalized there. In a public complaint, they stated that the only response received regarding the air-conditioning system failures was a suggestion to bring their own fans or cooling devices—a situation they deem unacceptable for a healthcare facility.
Those voicing their grievances questioned why, despite claims of insufficient funds to meet the hospital’s basic needs, resources are available for other government events and activities. They reported that some patients have remained hospitalized for weeks—unable to move or voice their complaints—while enduring extreme temperatures that have even led to cases of hyperthermia. They demanded that state and municipal authorities address the issue immediately, asserting that patient health and safety should not be compromised by budgetary excuses, and called for dignified conditions to ensure proper medical care.
