Maru Campos demands the extradition of Rubén Rocha Moya; she accuses the 4T administration of jeopardizing sovereignty and the USMCA trade agreement.

The governor of Chihuahua, María Eugenia Campos Galván, issued a message today via video on her social media accounts, urging the Federal Government to extradite Rubén Rocha Moya and not sacrifice the country to protect officials and governors targeted by the United States.

She explained that in recent weeks there has been open discussion about the possibility of unilateral actions against organized crime in Mexican territory, and about the impact of security issues on the review of the North American Free Trade Agreement (USMCA).

“Recently, the head of the United States Executive Branch suggested he wouldn’t mind if the free trade agreement were to disappear and hinted at the possibility of resorting to ground military action against the cartels based in Mexico. I want to be very clear: I am totally against any unilateral military intervention in Mexico. My commitment to my country’s sovereignty is absolute and admits no nuances. I am Mexican, governor of a large border state, and the integrity of our territory is not negotiable. But I must say something more, because a true defense of our sovereignty cannot be blind, much less irrational,” Campos Galván stated in her message.

She pointed out that what is happening today did not arise out of nowhere, but rather from the decision of the Morena regime to protect governors and officials who have been indicted by the United States justice system for links to organized crime.

“It arose because there are public servants with outstanding arrest warrants who are being sheltered, embraced, and cared for, without us knowing anything about them or their cases to this day. It arose because the prosecutors’ offices persecute those of us who fight crime while leaving untouched those accused of links to drug trafficking. And the government calls it defending the homeland. But the homeland isn’t defended with speeches; it’s defended by enforcing the law and strengthening the rule of law. It’s defended by severing those ties between politics and organized crime that cause so much pain and death to Mexicans. It’s defended by bringing those accused to justice.”

In that regard, he demanded that the 4T (Fourth Transformation) not look for scapegoats outside the country or fabricate international adversaries.

“What most threatens Mexico’s sovereignty is not a foreign government, but the impunity of organized crime. Yes, true capitulation and interference is handing political control to drug cartels. The only reason we are experiencing this situation today is the federal government’s refusal to prosecute its own members. That is impunity. And impunity does not protect any country; it weakens it.”

In his message, Campos Galván asked the Federal Government and President Claudia Sheinbaum to reflect, to not sacrifice an entire country by putting her party above the law, and to not hand over Rubén Rocha Moya.

“Let us not destroy years of trust and cooperation to protect those accused by the justice system. If there were a foreign incursion into our territory, or if we were to lose the trade agreement that sustains millions of jobs, lives, and families, listen carefully: the responsibility will lie solely with the Morena government and the Fourth Transformation (4T).

Today more than ever, loving Mexico and defending our true sovereignty means demanding that the law be upheld, that Rocha Moya and his accomplices be handed over, and that the other accused be publicly investigated. Let us not cease demanding this; let us not allow it to be forgotten. What is at stake is the development of the country, the freedom and security of all Mexican families. To the Morena regime, to the 4T regime, we remind you that the nation comes first… not your party.”
