San Miguel de Allende added another accolade to its international profile after the U.S. Embassy in Mexico highlighted the municipal government’s ongoing collaboration with the foreign community.
Mayor Mauricio Trejo welcomed U.S. Consul General Sarah Duffy, who presented an official award recognizing the continuous coordination between the San Miguel de Allende City Council and U.S. diplomatic and consular authorities.
The award acknowledges the attention given to U.S. citizens, as well as the joint efforts to strengthen the safety and security of foreign visitors.
According to the diplomatic mission, the coordinated work with U.S. federal agencies in information sharing and institutional cooperation was also valued, which has contributed to consolidating San Miguel de Allende as one of the safest and most attractive destinations for the international community.
The award also highlights the support provided by the municipal government for the development of programs promoted by the U.S. Embassy in areas such as social prevention, arts, culture, education, and community strengthening.
During the meeting, Mauricio Trejo and Sarah Duffy reaffirmed their commitment to maintain and strengthen institutional collaboration, with the goal of promoting security, social development and the well-being of the international community that has found in San Miguel de Allende one of the main destinations to live, invest and visit in Mexico.
