A woman was shot to death on Tuesday night while riding a motorcycle; the victim was identified as Patricia and, according to initial reports, she worked in the housekeeping department of the Pénjamo Regional Hospital.
She was a member of the “Hasta Encontrarte” (Until We Find You) search collective for missing persons in the municipality of Irapuato. Armed individuals opened fire on her, inflicting fatal head wounds.
The attack took place on Santos Degollado Boulevard in the Las Américas neighborhood, causing alarm among workers and patients in the area. Despite the rapid response of medical staff and emergency personnel, the woman died at the scene.
Security forces from all three levels of government deployed an operation and cordoned off the scene, while the State Attorney General’s Office launched an investigation to solve the homicide.
The assailants fled, and so far, no arrests have been reported.
