A woman was killed and two men were injured in an armed attack early Sunday morning in the Guanajuatito neighborhood of San Miguel de Allende.
The attack in San Miguel occurred on Salamanca Street, where neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots to the emergency services.
In response to the report, officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security went to the scene and found three people with gunshot wounds. They requested paramedic assistance.
Red Cross paramedics arrived to provide pre-hospital care; however, they confirmed that one of the victims, a woman, had already died. The two injured men were stabilized and transported to a hospital under police guard for medical treatment.
The area was cordoned off by authorities to preserve evidence, while forensic experts and investigators from the State Attorney General’s Office processed the scene and ordered the body’s transfer to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo), where an autopsy will be performed.
The victims’ identities have not been released, and no arrests have been reported. The State Attorney General’s Office is continuing its investigation to determine the motive for the attack and identify those responsible.
