Sargassum seaweed continues to plague the beaches of Guayabitos, Nayarit, as social media reports indicate it was once again covered in algae today.
Dozens of tourists, residents, workers, and employees were shocked by the enormous amount of sargassum this Friday.
In images shared by Aaron de la O, the sargassum can be seen stretching along the beach, making it difficult to even enter the water.
Cleanup efforts were carried out in recent days due to the seaweed’s unpleasant odor, but this morning the beach was once again covered in sargassum.
