“Tamaulipas’s destinations are showing excellent performance in terms of both visitor numbers and economic impact, and the holiday season is only just beginning,” noted the state’s Secretary of Tourism, Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez.
In contrast to the more than 473,000 visitors recorded during this holiday period in 2025, Tamaulipas has already surpassed 590,000 tourists, according to data from the State System for Tourist Influx.
Hernández Rodríguez highlighted that these figures reflect not only a notable increase in visitor numbers but also a significant economic impact that has already exceeded 500 million pesos.
“The intensive promotional efforts driven by Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, combined with an improved perception of security resulting from advancements in equipment, intelligence, and operations, are translating directly into more visitors,” the official emphasized.
So far, the most visited destination is Ciudad Madero—home to Miramar Beach—which has recorded over 323,000 visitors; the Port of Tampico follows in second place, while Nuevo Laredo holds third place, followed by Llera and Altamira.
“Without a doubt, this will be an excellent summer for Tamaulipas, generating significant economic activity that will benefit the state’s regions and communities,” concluded Hernández Rodríguez.
