The controversy surrounding the eviction of Juan Ramírez López in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, continues to generate reactions on social media. After several days of public criticism and accusations, Dr. Ihara Rodríguez shared her version of events through a video posted on her social media platforms, stating that the situation has been presented incompletely and that she now fears for her safety.
The physician explained that the dispute did not begin with the eviction carried out on July 15, 2026, but is part of a family legal conflict that, according to her, began nearly nine years ago due to her grandfather’s serious financial problems.
In her statement, she said that her family’s actions were intended to prevent her grandfather from losing his property because of the debts he had accumulated.
She stated that the legal dispute has lasted almost nine years and that its resolution rests solely with the courts.
“My grandfather was facing financial difficulties and several debts, including a labor lawsuit involving a six-figure amount. It was my parents who decided to help him so he would not lose his property,” Dr. Ihara Rodríguez explained.
The physician said that after those financial obligations were paid, ownership of the property was legally transferred to her through a payment-in-kind agreement (dación en pago). She added that, at the same time, a loan-for-use agreement (comodato) was established, allowing her grandparents to continue living in the home for the rest of their lives.
However, she explained that the situation changed following her grandmother’s death from COVID-19 on August 7, 2020. According to her account, family disagreements escalated until, in 2022, her grandfather filed a lawsuit against her and her parents, initiating a legal process that remains ongoing.
She Denies Any Illegal Seizure of the Property
The doctor explained the origin of the property’s ownership and rejected claims that the eviction was carried out arbitrarily.
One of the main purposes of her statement was to respond to the accounts circulating online after this month’s eviction.
She denied that it was an arbitrary eviction, asserting that the action resulted from a court order issued as part of the ongoing legal proceedings between the parties.
She also stated that she was not present during the eviction because she was attending a medical conference in Cancún at the time. Additionally, she clarified that videos showing her wearing a blue shirt were not recorded during the recent operation but were filmed in January 2023 and, according to her, were later shared out of context.
She Reports Threats and the Leak of Personal Information
Beyond explaining the legal background of the dispute, the physician said that the public exposure of the case has triggered a wave of harassment against her.
She stated that her personal information was shared on social media and reported receiving hundreds of death threats. She also revealed that unknown individuals left a funeral wreath bearing her name outside her home, further increasing her concerns for her own safety and that of her family.
“I am afraid. Afraid for my safety, for my family’s safety, and for the consequences that hatred can have when fueled by misinformation,” Dr. Ihara Rodríguez said.
She added that she was judged publicly before having the opportunity to present her side of the story and regretted that many opinions were formed solely based on the information that initially circulated on social media.
She Calls for an End to Harassment
At the conclusion of her statement, the doctor urged the public and the media to avoid spreading information without proper context and to allow the judicial authorities to determine the outcome of the legal dispute.
She also asked that all forms of violence, harassment, and intimidation against her cease, arguing that the public debate has gone beyond the legal dispute and has placed her personal safety at risk.
The physician reiterated that ownership of the property was legally transferred to her through a process that took several years and responded to the accusations that emerged following the eviction.
