Four Members of a Family Murdered Inside Their Home in Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato

In Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato, four members of a family were shot to death inside their home by an armed group.

Among the victims are a father and his son, who worked as Servidores de la Nación for the Guanajuato delegation of the Ministry of Welfare.

This multiple homicide adds to a wave of massacres that have become recurrent in the state of Guanajuato.

According to the report, the armed attack against the family occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, when several armed men forcibly entered a home located on Solidaridad Street, in the Morelos neighborhood, in the municipality of Valle de Santiago.

It is known that the armed group surprised the family while they were sleeping and fired at close range against three men and one woman.

A 17-year-old teenager witnessed the attack against her family. The young woman received medical attention due to the nervous breakdown she suffered.

The teenager who survived the attack was the first to request help from authorities and guided the emergency responders who arrived to handle the report of the aggression.

Paramedics examined the people injured by gunfire and confirmed that the three men had died.

The victims were identified as Julio Raúl, approximately 60 years old, and his son Yael, 25 years old.

According to reports, father and son worked as Servidores de la Nación in the Guanajuato delegation of the Ministry of Welfare.

The death of Isaac, a 15-year-old teenager, was also confirmed at the scene.

The woman, an adult approximately 60 years old, was transported for medical attention to the Bicentennial Hospital of Valle de Santiago, where she later died as a result of the gunshot wounds she had sustained.

Julio Raúl was the grandfather of the teenager who survived the attack, and Yael was her uncle.

Elements of the State Attorney General’s Office arrived at the family home to begin the investigations.

So far, authorities have not reported the capture of the alleged perpetrators of the massacre, who fled the scene aboard several vehicles after carrying out the attack.

The municipality of Valle de Santiago has become a highly dangerous area due to the dispute over territorial control between criminal organizations such as the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

Just on July 22, 2026, in this same municipality of Valle de Santiago, a woman and a man were deprived of their freedom after leaving a Bodega Aurrerá store, and hours later their lifeless and dismembered bodies were found outside the same commercial establishment.
