Tabasco Regulates Maximum Towing and Vehicle Storage Fees
The Secretariat of Mobility (Semovi) has established maximum rates for towing, vehicle transport, and storage services in Tabasco to prevent excessive charges and protect consumers.
The frustration many residents faced when requesting a tow truck or transporting construction materials—only to receive extremely high bills—may soon come to an end. In response to numerous complaints about abusive pricing, Semovi announced new regulations that establish fixed maximum rates for towing, vehicle storage, and transport services.
Initial Service Fee
Under the new regulations, on state highways, the initial towing fee will range from $742.81 for Type A tow trucks to $1,244.61 for Type D tow trucks.
In urban areas:
- Cars and pickup trucks: $843.00
- Heavy vehicles, such as tractor-trailers: $2,810.00
The regulations also allow a 25% surcharge for vehicle recoveries on dirt roads or when the vehicle is carrying cargo.
“It is important to point out that these measures are based on Decree 262, which amended the Mobility Law of the State of Tabasco regarding tow trucks and trailers in 2026,” said Rafael Elías Sánchez.
