The Sonora State Attorney General’s Office announced that Daniel Humberto “N” has been bound over for trial in connection with the case involving vitamin-infused serums in the state, which left at least eight people dead.

According to the information provided, the defendant is accused of helping Jesús Maximiano Verduzco Soto, a suspected doctor involved in administering intravenous serums that caused the deaths of the victims mentioned.

Through a statement, authorities reported that the defense of the man, who is also accused of the crime of drug dealing, presented an altered video during his pretrial hearing.

As a result, the prosecutor’s office announced that it will launch an investigation to determine whether the audiovisual material was altered and, if so, establish the corresponding responsibilities.

“During the hearing, the prosecution presented evidence that made it possible to establish the defendant’s probable responsibility,” the statement says regarding the crime of possessing drugs for the purpose of sale.

The case will have a three-month period for the complementary investigation, and a precautionary measure other than preventive detention was established. Therefore, Daniel Humberto “N” must comply with the conditions imposed by the judicial authority.

It should be recalled that the man was arrested last Tuesday, August 11, in possession of alleged packages containing drugs.

Regarding his relationship with Jesús Maximiano Verduzco, it is known that he allegedly assisted the man in his work as a receptionist. Verduzco injected serums into eight people, who died as a result of the procedure.

On April 1, it was reported that the Sonora prosecutor’s office had opened an investigation into the deaths of a father and his son after they received this intravenous substance.

Investigations related to this case have led authorities to search three properties located in the city of Hermosillo, as well as the “Clínica Homotoxicológica Obregón sueros vitaminados,” located in Ciudad Obregón, where 216 saline solutions were seized, 178 of which had been prepared for administration and 38 that had not been prepared.
