Two underage individuals have come forward through a public anonymous complaint alleging severe physical abuse, theft of personal belongings, and intimidation by officers of the State Civil Guard inside the grounds of the San Luis Potosí National Fair. The incident reportedly took place near the nightlife and concert zones while the teenagers were waiting for an artist to perform.
According to the testimony, an officer approached them aggressively, demanding an arbitrary search. When one of the minors managed to retrieve his wallet after an officer attempted to pocket it, the situation escalated rapidly. The officer called for reinforcement, bringing around eight additional uniformed personnel to the scene. The youths stated they were forcefully dragged to the secluded rear area behind the main palenque stage out of public view.
Once isolated, the victims reported enduring physical assaults, including punches to the abdomen, slaps, and hair-pulling by officers who explicitly mocked their age and claimed immunity from consequences. During the confrontation, the authorities allegedly stripped them of their cell phones and wallets containing cash, while photographing and recording them to issue explicit threats. The officers reportedly warned the teenagers that returning to the fairgrounds would result in worse violence and arbitrary detention, before forcibly ejecting them through a back service door.
This alarming account has sparked widespread public concern and calls for accountability. Local civil rights advocates and citizens are formally urging the State Human Rights Commission and the state Attorney General’s Office to initiate a thorough, transparent investigation into the alleged misconduct, abuse of authority, and theft committed by the security personnel. Observers emphasize that such actions by law enforcement undermine public safety and trust, demanding immediate administrative and legal sanctions to protect attendees and prevent future abuses during major public events across the region.
