The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Tamaulipas seized computer equipment and specialized devices allegedly used for cryptocurrency mining at a property located in the El Sauz neighborhood of the municipality of Camargo, Tamaulipas.
It was reported that Investigative Police officers carried out the judicial order as part of an ongoing investigation.
Inside the property, authorities found nine specialized computer systems, some bearing the labels BITMAIN and ANTMINER, as well as a laptop computer, high-power power supplies, networking equipment, Ethernet cables, and ventilation and air-extraction systems.
Based on the characteristics and arrangement of the seized items, authorities determined that the equipment constituted a technological infrastructure allegedly intended to operate a cryptocurrency mining farm.
The evidence was secured and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding investigative procedures and expert examinations, in order to determine its operation, origin, and possible connection to other acts that may constitute crimes.
The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Tamaulipas reaffirmed its commitment to investigating acts that could constitute crimes through the use of the technological, scientific, and intelligence tools available to it, with strict adherence to the law and due process.
