🛣️ GREAT NEWS FOR EVERYONE WHO DRIVES TO ROCKY POINT!

Work has officially begun on the full modernization of the Sonoyta–Puerto Peñasco highway — the road most of our visitors take to reach us — backed by a 1.8-billion-peso federal investment.

This is the main artery of our local economy: more than 1.8 million visitors travel it every year, along with the trucks that supply our whole region. A better highway means a safer, smoother, and more comfortable drive for you and your family.

Here’s what it includes:

🔹 More than 90 kilometers rebuilt, in 8 sections worked at the same time to finish faster
🔹 A renovated entrance to Puerto Peñasco along Boulevard Benito Juárez
🔹 An upgraded border crossing entrance at Sonoyta.

The project was launched by Governor Alfonso Durazo and Mayor Alejandro Verdugo, alongside federal infrastructure authorities, as part of a series of strategic projects for our port — including new housing, a new wastewater treatment plant, and Latin America’s largest solar plant.

To our American neighbors and friends who live here or visit often: your safety and your experience are our priority. Puerto Peñasco is, and will always be, a safe and welcoming home. We can’t wait to see you on a brand-new road. 🌊
