Playa La Pesca, Gómez Farías, Tula, and Miramar stood out among the tourist destinations in Tamaulipas with the highest hotel occupancy rates during the summer vacation period, according to monitoring conducted by the Tamaulipas Secretariat of Tourism over 51 days.
The records showed hotel occupancy rates ranging from 45.9% to 97% across the different destinations in the state, reflecting a favorable season for the state’s tourism sector.
La Pesca Reaches 97% Hotel Occupancy
The Secretary of Tourism of Tamaulipas, Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez, reported that the highest occupancy rate was recorded in Playa La Pesca, located in the municipality of Soto la Marina, with an average of 97%.
The coastal destination ranked as the location with the highest demand during the vacation season, according to the results obtained during the monitoring period.
Second was Gómez Farías, whose natural attractions recorded a hotel occupancy rate of 83%.
Meanwhile, the Magical Town of Tula exceeded 80% occupancy throughout the monitored period, reflecting visitors’ interest in cultural and nature tourism options.
Miramar Stands Out Among Tourist Destinations
Among Tamaulipas’ main destinations, Miramar also stood out as part of the tourism offerings that attracted visitors during the summer vacation period.
In general terms, the state recorded occupancy levels ranging from 45.9% to 97%, with differences among the various regions and tourist destinations.
The metropolitan area made up of Altamira, Ciudad Madero, and Tampico recorded an average hotel occupancy rate of 67.1%.
This result allowed the area to reaffirm its position as the region with the highest visitor influx among the state’s main urban and tourist centers.
This Is How Hotel Occupancy Closed in the North and Central Regions
In the northern region of Tamaulipas, Matamoros reached an average occupancy rate of 61.8%, while Nuevo Laredo recorded 59% and Reynosa reached 48.5%.
In the central region, Ciudad Victoria closed the vacation period with a hotel occupancy rate of 45.9%.
The Secretary of Tourism stated that the results were accompanied by actions related to infrastructure improvements, perceptions of security, and connectivity, in addition to other strategies implemented by Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya.
Overall, the figures reflect a favorable vacation season for the hotel sector in Tamaulipas, with destinations reaching high occupancy levels and visitors distributed across the different regions of the state.
