Tamaulipas received 5.046 million visitors during the 2026 summer vacation period, 20.34% more than the 4.1 million recorded during the same period in 2025, with an economic impact of more than 4.693 billion pesos, reported the state’s Secretary of Tourism, Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez.

The five most visited destinations in the state were Ciudad Madero, with 1,951,137 tourists; Tampico, with 961,870; Soto la Marina, with 301,646; Altamira, with 197,529; and Nuevo Laredo, with 141,910.

The official stated that the state’s perception of security, the reinforcement of security through Safe Stations, investment in tourism and connectivity infrastructure, among other strategies implemented, are translating into more visitors, economic activity, investment, and community development.

Hernández Rodríguez added that the State Tourism Influx System is compiled using information generated by the tourist destinations themselves, so preliminary data is available through the closing period, when the final figures are obtained.
