Jalisco is promoting road and urban infrastructure projects in Ocotlán and Tlajomulco de Zúñiga. In the first municipality, 320 million pesos have been allocated, while in the second, an investment of 290 million pesos is planned, the state administration reported.
During the presentation of Ocotlán Municipal President Deysi Nayelli Ángel Hernández’s Second Government Report, Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro said that 730 million pesos have been allocated to the municipality over two years, with work on the Ocotlán-Tototlán, Ocotlán-San Vicente, and Ocotlán-Zapotlán El Rey highways, as well as the first stage of the bridge over the Santiago River.
For this year, the state government will allocate 80 million pesos to the second stage of the bridge, which will include a pedestrian crossing, lighting, traffic lights, and signage. With both stages, the total investment will reach 250 million pesos. Lemus Navarro announced that funding will be considered in the 2027 Expenditure Budget for a new crossing that will connect the Arboledas and El Mezquite neighborhoods.
Meanwhile, in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Public Works (SIOP) will modernize various sections of Adolf B. Horn Avenue to improve connectivity with the second entrance to the Guadalajara International Airport, through a coordinated strategy between the state and municipal governments and the Pacific Airport Group (GAP).
The projects include replacing the bridge over Arroyo Seco with a 32-meter structure that will maintain six traffic lanes, in addition to paving, hydraulic infrastructure, a bicycle lane, sidewalks, lighting, and signage. A 1.5-kilometer section between Concepción Avenue and the airport access road will also be rehabilitated.
The state intervention will be complemented by 120 million pesos from the municipality to address approximately 12 kilometers, from the airport’s southern entrance to Arvento and Circuito Metropolitano Sur.
The modernization will benefit approximately 20 public transportation routes and strengthen the connection with Line 4 of the Electric Train.
The administrator of Guadalajara International Airport, Cryshtian José Amador Lizardi, explained that this project is part of its expansion plan, with a global investment of more than 22 billion pesos in the airport terminal.
