Monserrat “N” found dead

The girl had been reported missing in Comitán, her uncle ran her over and hid her body

On Monday night, the lifeless body of seven-year-old Monserrat “N” was found, who disappeared on November 19 in the Señor del Pozo community, municipality of Comitán de Domínguez.

In this sense, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported that according to the first investigations and through interviews collected with relatives, it was revealed that on the day of her disappearance the infant went to her uncle’s home, however, she did not return home, so family and friends began their search.

During the interrogation of the girl’s uncle stated that one day before, without realizing it, he ran over her niece with her private vehicle, abandoning her lifeless body in a property called San Juan, located in the municipality of Comitán.

Given these events, the Sierra Border District Prosecutor’s Office began an investigation file for the crime of Homicide committed to the detriment of the minor.

Elements of the Investigation Police and Expert Services arrived at the scene, but the victim’s relatives did not allow the removal of the body nor did they allow them to present their complaint to the corresponding authority, since they will resolve the case based on customs and practices.

Meanwhile, the residents of Tojolabal origin keep entry to the community blocked, which is located in the Comitán-Altamirano section, just eight kilometers from the city of Comitán.
