Senate authorizes the entry of armed US military into Mexico

The authorization was made for a group of US military personnel, who will enter Mexico armed, to provide training to elements of the Sedena

The Senate of the Republic approved this Wednesday the authorization requested by the Federal Executive to allow the entry into national territory of United States Army personnel with weapons, who will provide training to the Special Forces of the Secretariat of National Defense.

The authorization will be from January 22 to March 22, 2024 and the training will be carried out at the Special Forces Training Center, Temamatla, State of Mexico; and at the Regional Training Center of the I Military Region, San Miguel de los Jagüeyes, State of Mexico.

The US military will enter with weapons, ammunition and tactical equipment.

The Secretary of National Defense must submit a report on the results of the training.
