Threat to CJNG? Body found hanging on vehicular bridge in Celaya, with ‘narcomessage’ signed by CSRL

The body was abandoned between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. on Friday, while dozens of motorists were still driving on the streets

A week after the massacre of 11 people at a posada in Salvatierra and almost three after the homicide of six young people in Celaya, Guanajuato was once again the scene of a violent act: the discovery of a body hanging with signs of torture on a bridge that connects both municipalities. It is presumed that the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel (CSRL) is behind this crime.

According to local media, around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, motorists traveling on the Celaya-Salvatierra highway reported the presence of a semi-naked male body hanging from his feet, at the height of the crossroads of the La Cruz community.

Immediately, elements of the National Guard (GN) and the State Public Security Forces (FSPE) arrived at the scene, where they confirmed the presence of the victim who was wearing only underwear. His face was skinned and next to him hung a ‘narcomessage’.

Experts from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) were present at the scene to initiate the corresponding investigations. The body was later transferred to the facilities of the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO), where the legal autopsy will be performed and his identity will be determined.

What did the ‘narcomessage’ say?

CSRL claims the crime According to photographs circulating on social networks, the body was located next to a green cardboard on which the following warning was read:

“This is going to happen to all those who sell white jale and support the filthy ‘Chuy’ and the **** of ‘Yeyo’. Att: CRSL, Special Forces Skull”.

The message refers to the sale of white methamphetamine, which is allegedly distributed in the entity by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), a criminal organization led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias ‘El Mencho’, and the main rival of the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel.

It is worth remembering that this criminal group has been talked about in recent days. On December 20, and unofficially, they were identified as the perpetrators of the attack on the attendees of a posada organized at the Ex Hacienda San José del Carmen in Salvatierra; which left 11 dead and 14 wounded.
