President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said on Friday that he asked the US authorities to deliver at least 10 million visas to Hispanic migrants who have been working for at least 10 years in the northern country.
In his morning press conference, López Obrador also asked the US authorities to end the sanctions against Venezuela.
López Obrador mocked on Friday the visit to the border that the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States, Mike Johnson, and other Republicans made this week because they did not find images of a migration crisis.
“The day before yesterday, when the Republicans arrived at the border, legislators, because they wanted to find thousands of migrants there, they did not find them, their little number (the scene) did not come out, but it was not because they were expelled (to the migrants), no, they were convinced that they had to look for legal ways,” he said.
The president referred in his morning conference to the trip that Johnson and other Republicans made on Wednesday to the border city of Eagle Pass, in Texas, where they blamed President Joe Biden for the “unmitigated disaster” of the migration crisis.
