Mazatlán will have a new attraction opening between June and July this year, it is the zip line that will go from the top of El Faro to El Observatorio Mazatlán 1873, declared Mariel Ancona Infanzón, General Director of the National Port System Administration (Asipona) in Mazatlán.
“I hope that by July it will be ready, it should be by June or July, for the summer vacation,” specified the director of Asipona Mazatlán.

This project, which was granted to the entrepreneur Amado Guzmán Reynaud, was delayed because it is under evaluation by an American company that will grant the safety certification, however, it is expected to be one of the highest and most spectacular in the world.
“For all tourists to be able to go up, those from the cruise ships, the Americans, and others, and also Mexicans, for safety, the zip lines have to be certified by an American company, and it’s not because it’s American, but because I believe there are three or four companies in the world that do that certification, so that it’s a totally safe project for those who are going to ride,” explained Ancona Infanzón.
Ancona Infanzón said that so far, the permits required to install this zip line are in order and they are only waiting for the zip line’s certification to be installed.
“When we gave it to Mr. Amado Guzmán, who is the one doing it, we had already covered the necessary permits and we gave them to him because that’s what the law says, he was the first, I think he had already submitted that document seven years ago,” he explained.
“And we got all the permits from Semarnat, all the permits from Mexico, we already have all the permits, right now it’s because that certification is very important for the safety of all users,” he added.
The operation of this new attraction is expected to start in the summer vacation period and will surprise locals and tourists with its height and the journey.
The zip line will have a height from 140 meters to 60 meters, with a route on a steel line of 1,265 meters, where a speed of up to 100 kilometers per hour can be reached, the transfer will be seated or like “Superman,” with a route over the sea.
