Fishermen located a raft with the four Cubans, three kilometers out to sea within the Boca de Catán Barra. The Cubans were transferred to the Punta de Piedra fishing town.

The rescued, who are between 26 and 35 years old, commented that they left the island of Cuba on April 1, in a boat made of sheets and pieces of wood; Unfortunately for them, their rudder broke and they were lost in the open sea.
