Tampico, Tamaulipas. – The city of Tampico is once again recovering accommodations and its great attraction for holding meetings and convention events, which have been taking place since this month of May and which will also be held in the month of June, indicated the president of the Southern Tamaulipas Hotel Association, Alberto Ortega Ortega.
He added that these social, business and cultural activities contribute to the area having a greater national presence, with all entrepreneurs being prepared to receive these accommodations and demand a wide variety of services.
He also highlighted that the destination is not only a beach destination, but that it has a vast gastronomy, it has the Historic Center of Tampico, it has nature and history sites, in addition to the recently opened museums, among other attractions, which all of this makes people who are organizing their events see the Port as an alternative that competes with other places.
In fact, he indicated that in the upcoming National Petroleum Congress that will take place in Tampico from June 19 to 22, at least nine thousand people are expected to be visiting the city, in addition to the economic benefit that it will represent for restaurants, cafes, hotels and other sites, in addition to the mobility that will exist throughout this core of visitors.
Yes, we already have very important congresses on the doorstep in the next month, in this month of May there were already some sports congresses and others from some social organizations and all of this giving us greater presence within this concept, such an important meeting tourism. What it is and where we are prepared, the entire local supply, the entire value chain in this sense to be a very important destination where any type of events can be held here in our area.

(Events) always influence a lot to increase hotel occupancy, we must remember that unfortunately due to the times we live in years ago, the holding of events here in our area was suspended and later when we were leaving this complicated situation that the entire State experienced Covid came to us and another stoppage in this meeting tourism industry and well, it is already starting to resume for years, events are starting to take place, and I repeat, the city is increasingly better prepared with greater tourist attractions.
In all this, Ortega highlighted that during the year there are several sporting and musical events that are scheduled by the State Secretary of Tourism and some civil organizations, which will attract more walkers to the metropolitan area.
