UNAM experts reported on the possible appearance of a new volcano in Mexican territory

Mexico is a land of volcanoes. Active volcanoes that continue to threaten the cities built at their feet, volcanoes that illustrate our legends with the tragedy of their mythological loves, volcanoes that died centuries ago, volcanoes on whose top snow falls, new volcanoes that could appear at any moment.
This was alerted by UNAM experts, who reported that two possible new volcanoes could appear in Mexico, specifically in Michoacán, and even in Mexico City.
Our country is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area of abundant seismic and volcanic activity, where 90% of the seismic activity in the world accumulates, so it is not unreasonable that a new volcano could appear in Mexico .
It already happened last century. During the Second World War, Mexico was first noted in international newspapers due to the unexpected birth of the Paricutin volcano, which suddenly appeared from the earth on February 20, 1943, and which became the youngest volcano in the entire world.
When would these new volcanoes be born in Mexico?
According to UNAM experts, although the probabilities of new volcanoes being born in our country are high, it is not something that will happen soon, but rather “it could happen in 800 or 1,200 years.”
