Clashes between members of the Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) and Sinaloa (CS) cartels intensified in the municipalities of Frontera Comalapa and Chicomuselo, which is why many people are leaving for other places, reported residents of the region.
“The clashes began three days ago, but this Sunday it was uglier, but people no longer even report anything because the authorities at the three levels do nothing,” said residents consulted.
They added that according to various versions, the CS members destroyed three vehicles of the so-called Monsters, used by drug trafficking groups during the clashes.
“The bursts of high-powered weapons come from the hill. There is talk of many deaths, but due to the same situation no one can confirm them. We also know of a lady injured because she was hit by a bullet inside her home,” they expressed.
“The situation has already worsened again after several days passed in relative calm,” they said.
They also reported that the fire that started on Friday in the communities of Nuevo Morelia, San Francisco, Las Palmas, El Rosario and Las Brisas, among others, has not been controlled and has affected hundreds of hectares.
“It is known that many houses that were abandoned have burned because for several months people have moved to other places due to violence,” they commented.
They stated that it is presumed that members of one of the organized crime groups caused the fire and it affects gatekeepers, plots where they grow various products and mountain areas, as well as farmyard animals and houses.
“In some parts the fire has already been put out, but it burned everything and the fire continues because there is no one to put it out,” they stated.
