“I don’t want to die”: the homicide of Emiliano in Tabasco adds to the more than 5,000 infantrymen murdered in the AMLO era

Information from the Network for Children’s Rights in Mexico (Redim) reports 12,368 homicides of people from 0 to 17 years of age in the country – only in the period from December 2018 to December 2023 -, that is That is, the homicides of 6.7 infants were documented every day during the AMLO era.
The Redim figures contrast with the INEGI report corresponding to the first half of 2023, as the institute reported 153 homicides of girls, boys and adolescents, well below the 894 murders recorded throughout the year by the organization directed by Tania Ramírez.
Of the total homicides of infants from 2018 to 2023, 5,099 died in traffic accidents and 377 of them died from injuries caused by knives; Furthermore, one in four victims were women.
