The art of healing through textiles brings together views in San Miguel de Allende.

Las piezas reunidas en El Nigromante despliegan diversas técnicas sobre el textil, desde bordado hasta pintura, grabado, impresión, escritura y collage.

“This is an independent public and social art project promoted by a collective of more than 600 women and girls, between 6 and 80 years old, around the world, inspired by patchwork, an ancient technique in which scraps of fabric are joined together. to create quilts or blankets,” reported INBAL in a statement, the agency to which the headquarters is attached through the General Subdirectorate of Artistic Education and Research.

A collective embroidery whose workmanship leaves pain and negative stories behind, giving way to healing.
The pieces, gathered by dozens in the exhibition, display various techniques on textiles, from embroidery to painting, engraving, printing, writing and collage.

“Here textile art is used as a form of peaceful activism, so that society becomes aware of violence against children, women and the Earth.”

According to Laura Bustos, director of the Necromancer, the exhibition sends a message of awareness against the many forms of violence.

The Patchwork Healing Blanket, open since February 21 at Dr. Hernández Macías 75, in the Historic Center of San Miguel de Allende, will close its doors this Sunday.
