Now it was the turn of Moritz ‘Mau’, a German who runs the YouTube channel No manches, que rico, to draw attention with the video where he recorded himself trying 4 peso tacos in San Luis Potosí.
How did the German react to the 4 peso tacos?
In the video titled Trying 4-peso tacos in San Luis Potosí, ‘Mau’ showed his culinary experience with Garnachas from that part of the country. He highlights that he shared this content at the end of 2023, but it just began to circulate with more impact on YouTube: at the moment, it has more than 454 thousand views.
After showing the speed of a street taqueria, the YouTuber found another stall, less established but cheaper (the loose taco for 5 pesos, and 5 tacos for 20 pesos), run by a young man named Leonardo. “Basket tacos, we handle the ones with carnitas, papa, beans and red egg.”
“We divide the work in the kitchen: my brothers work in the kitchen and I come here to deliver the tacos,” explained the merchant.
After talking about the preparation of the tacos and the garnishes, Leonardo explained his way of serving people: “First they arrive with the cashier who gives them a piece of paper saying that they have already paid, then they come with me and I send them out, they choose the stew they they want and they already prepare them with all the sauce they want.
When asked by the content creator about how many tacos they sell per day, the merchant said that “about 4 or 5 coolers are sent, and each cooler brings more than 1,500 tacos, 2,000 tacos.”
