Social excursion tourism in Zihuatanejo continues to be one of the sectors that continues to reach the beach binomial, generating an important economic benefit to the destination.
The President of the Mexican Association of Hotels and Motels of Zihuatanejo, Rogelio Lozano Calderón, indicated that although they arrive limited in their resources, because they arrive in a massive way, at the end of the day it translates into good economic benefits.
This especially benefits small one-star hotels, shops and some restaurants or inns. Social tourism arrives all year round and it is estimated that attendance has grown by 60 percent.
Lozano Calderón commented that this type of tourism should not be seen in a bad way or as harmful to the destination, since in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo there is room for all visitors, of all purchasing powers, to enjoy the natural beauties.
