Inhabitants of the Altos del Miramar, Quinta Stage, Amalia Solórzano and El Porvenir neighborhoods carried out the blockade at 10 in the morning
Acapulco, Gro. Inhabitants of the Altos del Miramar, Quinta Stage, Amalia Solórzano and El Porvenir neighborhoods, which are located in the upper part of Llano Largo, blocked Costera Miguel Alemán Avenue at 10 in the morning, in the center of Acapulco, in front of the Palace Federal, to require the municipal government to supply drinking water.
Protesters criticized that the Drinking Water and Sewer Commission of the Municipality of Acapulco supplies them with water through pipes, at the rate of one Rotoplas water tank every month and a half, which is insufficient, if the extreme temperatures that are also taken into account are taken into account. They affect Acapulco and the country.
The protesters pointed out that the affected neighborhoods lack a drinking water network, so it is urgent that a liquid distribution system be established that meets the needs of hundreds of families.
They warned that they had already demonstrated in recent days, but the authorities’ promises to bring them pipes again have not been fulfilled, so they have now gone more than 45 days without water at home, a situation that has been repeated for the last three months.
