The hotel sector in Mazatlán is gearing up to face the current rainy and hurricane season. Meetings have begun to promote training workshops on how to respond to natural phenomena such as hurricanes.
José Ramon Manguart Sánchez, president of the Association of 3 Islas Hotels, emphasized the importance of preparing companies within the organization. Last year’s heavy rains in other tourist destinations underscore the significance of this training.
“On Tuesday the 4th, we will have a hurricane training session for all members of the Association of 3 Islas Hotels. What will we do there? We will prepare ourselves with a clear understanding of what to do when such a phenomenon occurs and how to respond within humanly possible limits.”
Manguart Sánchez stressed that this training is essential to take necessary measures in case the port faces a situation of this magnitude.
The hotel leader acknowledged that Mazatlán is not exempt from experiencing a situation similar to what occurred in Acapulco in 2023, where nature demonstrated its power.
For the summer vacation season, an increase in tourist influx is expected compared to last year, with hotel occupancy reaching 100%.
