
This Thursday, nearly 50 teams met in the pearl of the Pacific port to kick off the Durango Mazatlán 7-a-side Soccer Cup.
Aaron Palacios, founder of this cup, met with family and friends of the protagonists at the Grupo Amistad Sports Unit at 1:00 p.m., where 5 men’s and 2 women’s categories paraded before the matches.
Later, at 9:00 p.m., the initial flag was finally raised for the tournament, in an inauguration attended by sports promoters Julio Silva, Edgar Nieves, Eduardo Lares and Mauricio Ramirez, the first amputee soccer player in the Mexican Republic, Alejandro Paredes and of course, Aaron Palacios led the party.
Results
In the youth category B Dorados de Mazatlán beat Rayados de Villa Unión 11-0, where Sebastián Vega scored 4 goals; In the Juvenile A category, Gallos Blanco de Mazatlán beat the Dorados de Mazatlán 3-1; in the Juvenile B category, Gallos de Mazatlán and Leones de Delicias tied 2-2 and in the penalty shootout the feathered ones took the extra.
In the Juvenile A category, the Dikcava Hospital squad played a great game, but in the end its players fell with their faces in the sun by means of 2-0 cards, with winning goals by Jasser Aragón and Maximo Meza; in the Juvenile B category, Santos División beat the Mazatlán Panthers 5-1, with a hat trick by Alejandro Alba and a couple more by Manuel Amaro.
In the female branch under 13 category, the Dikcava Hospital defeated the Mazatlán Lionesses 3-1, a game where the winning goals fell to the talent of Brenda Soto (2) and the always talented Melissa Vargas; On the other hand, in the youth category A, men’s branch, the Durango team Vicentinos defeated the Halcones de Mazatlán 4-0, with goals from Kevin Sánchez, José Murguía and Alexander Camacho.
In the children’s category C and with a goal from Didier Núñez, the Academia Centauro team defeated the Paredes Soccer team by the minimum score, an organization led by professor Alejandro Paredes.
