The delegate of the National Chamber of Passenger and Tourism Transportation (Canapat), Tabasco Delegation, Sixto Hernández Zubieta, spoke out in favor of the urgent modernization of the roads in Tabasco that connect with the municipalities that host the stations of the Mayan Train.
Hernández Zubieta pointed out that, although the roads have not currently caused accidents or damage to passenger transport units, their condition represents a considerable risk.
In particular, he highlighted the need to intervene on the Villahermosa-Escárcega highway and the Villahermosa-Ciudad del Carmen highway.
He emphasized that the improvement of the road infrastructure is crucial not only for the safety of passengers, but also to promote tourism and take full advantage of the economic benefits that the Mayan Train can bring to the region.
The modernization of these routes would facilitate a more efficient and safe flow of tourists and transportation, boosting local economic development, he added.
