Yesterday, the virtual president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, presented a plan for passenger trains, similar to the Mayan Train, which are made up of the routes: AIFA-Pachuca Train; Mexico-San Luis Potosí-Monterrey-Nuevo Laredo Train and the Mexico-Querétaro-Guadalajara Train. Of course, the news raised curiosity among the people of Guadalajara who see one of the projects that has been known for a long time, but today seems to be a reality, as closer.
As a whole, it is a project in the Sheinbaum Government that aims to add three thousand new kilometers of this transportation model between the three new routes.
The previous routes add up to 1,778 kilometers of the 3 thousand kilometers of passenger train that she seeks to implement during her administration, and which would mainly be in the Bajío and north of the country, with trains that have a speed of 160 kilometers per hour and are electric, but it will be sought that they are built in the country.
On these routes, freight trains will be maintained. “Of course they have enormous potential, the connectivity of the country through trains. It means the generation of employment linked to public works, which boosts the work or private investment,” stressed the virtual president-elect of Mexico.
Regarding the Mexico-Querétaro-Guadalajara Train, it would initially comprise 581 km, and could be extended to Nogales, Sonora. According to estimates, this project would be ready in April 2029.
