Bodies with Signs of Violence Found in Yucatán

The Public Security Secretariat stated that “it is possible to rule out any connection of the events with organized crime groups.”

Two deceased individuals were found at the entrance of the “Chumul” fruit units in this municipality, showing signs of violence, apparently caused by a machete.

The double homicide may have been committed early Wednesday morning, and the location of the discovery is 20 meters from the Oxkutzcab-Maní highway.

In a statement, the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) indicated that according to information gathered by ministerial authorities, “it is possible to rule out any connection of the events with organized crime groups.”

“Regarding the case of two men found dead the night before last on the Oxkutzcab-Maní highway, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) and the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) report that investigations are very advanced to clarify the facts and apprehend the alleged perpetrators,” the agency stated.

The document also noted that from the SSP’s C5i Control Center, the movement of possible suspects was monitored through the video surveillance system and license plate readers.
