Regarding this, the representative of this federal agency in Yucatán, Esaú Velázquez Sosa, said that at least 60% are related to alleged increases in electricity rates.
The representation of the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) in Yucatán assured that complaints against the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) continue to be the most frequently made by citizens, averaging around 155 per month.
In this regard, the representative of this federal agency in Yucatán, Esaú Velázquez Sosa, said that an average of 155 complaints are received each month for CFE alone, of which 60 percent are related to alleged increases in electricity rates.
On the subject, the federal official mentioned that many times citizens were unaware that the rates were subsidized when reporting the increase, so he made it clear that it is necessary to go to this agency to understand the situation people are going through.
“For example, you used to pay 300 and now they are charging me 500. For a while, they put a subsidy, it is reduced, but we don’t know. Sometimes we might think we are consuming less,” he pointed out. He emphasized that Profeco will be attentive to complaints about the service of the state-owned company, so he urged citizens to come forward when they consider it necessary.
