What elegance… the Mexican athletes will show off in France. The opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be this Friday, July 26 at 11:30 a.m., Mexico time, and the athletes who represent us are already ready to look like ‘cake dolls’ in one of the world’s fashion capitals during the parade of nations that will culminate in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Despite Ana Guevara’s controversy with sports scholarships, the eyes of Mexico and the world will be on the Paris 2024 competitions, which will officially begin after the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron.

In this year’s edition, the Mexican delegation is headed by Alejandra Orozco and Emiliano Hernández, who will be the Mexican flag bearers in Paris 2024.

Following the diver and the pentathlete, a hundred Mexicans will parade who will seek to position themselves among the best in the world or, better yet, ‘hit the jackpot’ in Paris 2024 and take home cash prizes for winning a medal.

What are Mexico’s uniforms like in Paris 2024?

The Mexicans who go to Paris 2024 will wear shorts, sweatshirts, pants and t-shirts with the classic green, white and red tones, which represent the colors of the Mexican flag. But those will not be the only models that the national athletes will wear. Among the garments that have attracted the most attention is Mexico’s gala uniform for the Olympic Games, in black and fuchsia tones.

In addition, Mexico’s clothing for Paris 2024 is characterized by having a minimalist design, which allows a jaguar to stand out, one of the most iconic animals of the Aztec dream, or the figure of the Angel of Independence.

Alejandra Magaña, representative of the Charly brand, explained that Mexico’s uniforms in Paris 2024 have “typography inspired by the 1968 Olympic Games.” She added that it was chosen to include a jaguar in the designs because “it is synonymous with courage, strength and agility” of Mexican athletes.

Charly is one of the brands that will dress athletes who will participate in artistic swimming, boxing, athletics, among other competitions.

However, Mexico’s uniforms for Paris 2024 are not limited to t-shirts, shorts and other suits, but also include special footwear. In the case of the gala uniform, which will be used during the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Mexican athletes will wear white tennis shoes with the flag and the Olympic Rings on the sides.

Who designed the ‘Winged Victory’, Mexico’s gala uniform for the Olympic Games?

For the first time in history, the Mexican athletes who will parade in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will wear a uniform made by the Men’s Fashion brand.

The gala uniform, called ‘Winged Victory’, is inspired by the Angel of Independence and “symbolizes victory and freedom, elements that our athletes carry with them in each competition,” according to the brand.

However, the story behind Mexico’s gala uniform for the Olympic Games is not limited to the brand that makes it. The designer behind the clothing is called Marijose Rivera Vera, who won a contest.

“Men’s Fashion held an internal competition where it carefully selected the design with the best proposal and story. On this occasion, the proposal was made by Marijose Rivera Vera, who managed to capture her vision in the design: “Mexico is proposal, Mexico is contemporary, Mexico is fashion,” the brand explained in a statement.

According to Marijose Rivera Vera, the design of the uniform shows “little pieces of Mexico in fashion,” highlighting the famous “little miracles,” which were made by Mexican architects and artisans.
