If you have completed your high school studies but still don’t know what career to choose, then find out which are the bachelor’s degrees that have the largest number of students.
It was through its X account (@imcomx) that the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness, A.C. (IMCO) indicated that currently half of the young university students in Mexico are enrolled in 10 careers.
“Currently, in Mexico, half of the young university students are enrolled in 10 careers. Law is the one with the most students,” wrote the Institute after listing the most popular careers, these are:
Careers with the largest number of students
Law
The bachelor’s degree leads the list of the most popular careers in Mexico with a total of 361,129 students and 2,015 universities that teach it.
The universities with the largest enrollment are the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Autonomous University of Nuevo León.
Business Administration
This degree is in second place with 263,497 students enrolled in the 2021-2022 school year and 1,575 universities that offer it.
The institutions with the largest number of students are the Open and Distance University of Mexico and the Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato.
Industrial Engineering
The degree has a total of 239,345 students and 861 educational institutions that offer it.
The universities with the highest enrollment are the Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato and the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN).
Accounting and Auditing
This degree is considered one of the most popular with 213,916 enrolled students and 1,442 universities, with the Open and Distance University of Mexico and the Autonomous University of Nuevo León being the ones with the most students.
Psychology
The degree has 190,804 students and is taught in 1,078 universities throughout the country.
The institutions with the largest number of students are: UNAM and the Autonomous University of Nuevo León.
Electronics and automation engineering
The degree has 163,786 students enrolled.
General nursing and obstetrics
The IMCO revealed that the degree has a total of 162,120 students and 470 universities that teach it, with UNAM and the University of Guadalajara having the largest number of students.
General medicine
This degree is one of those with the largest enrollment, with 151,179 students in its ranks and being taught in 166 universities, with UNAM and the Autonomous University of Nuevo León having the largest number of students.
General administration and management plans
The degree has an enrollment of 149,896 students.
Business and commerce
The number of students enrolled in the 2021-2022 school year in the degree is 149,605 and it is taught at 835 universities, of which the National Polytechnic Institute and the University of Guadalajara have the largest number of students.
The Mexican Institute for Competitiveness indicated that the information was based on information from the 911 Format for higher education by degree, prepared by the Ministry of Public Education.
