Blockage on the Mexico-Puebla highway: This is the ‘panoramic route’ in case you have to travel

After two days of blocking the Mexico-Puebla highway, the protesters agreed to open a lane permanently. However, the kilometer-long lines and roadblocks will remain until vehicle traffic is regularized.

However, there is a ‘scenic route’ that you can take if you need to travel from CDMX to Puebla.

What does baseball have to do with the route to go from CDMX to Puebla?
Very easy. You will take the same route that the Diablos Rojos del México used to get to the Hermanos Serdán Stadium, in Puebla, where they play the playoffs of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB).

Diablos Rojos del México, which has among its ranks players such as second baseman Robinson Cano or star pitcher Trevor Bauer, made the trip with everything and the blockade on the Mexico-Puebla highway.

The route that the ‘Diablo Bus’ followed was the following.

They left Mexico City heading for Cuernavaca. Before reaching the capital of Morelos, the truck transporting Diablos Rojos took the detour towards Cuautla.

The ‘Diablo Bus’ continued on that route until it found signs indicating the route to follow to get to Puebla.

The route shown on Google Maps indicates that motorists who follow this route to avoid the blockade on the Mexico-Puebla highway will pass through municipalities such as Atlixco and Cholula, before taking the road that takes them to the capital of Puebla.

According to Miguel Boada, from the communication team of Diablos Rojos del México, the trip took them more than four hours, more time than the hour of travel that is done by the highway; however, it was the only road alternative to arrive and play the third game of the series against the Pericos, owned by José Miguel Bejos.

“We did 4:30 hours but without any problem,” said Boada.

How is the series between Diablos Rojos del México and Pericos de Puebla going?

After winning four of seven games in the first three games of the series, the ‘escarlatas’ arrived at the Hermanos Serdán Stadium in control of the qualifying round.

Diablos Rojos del México won the two games played at the Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium and this Thursday increased their advantage by putting the series 3-0 in their favor.

In addition, after having a record of 71 wins and only 19 losses, Diablos Rojos is a clear favorite to advance in the LMB playoffs.

The ‘escarlatas’ are looking to win the 17th championship in the history of the club owned by Alfredo Harp Helú. This number of titles would confirm Diablos as the team with the most championships among the professional sports leagues in Mexico.
