Despite the repeated appearance in the top 3 national homicides per day, the governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, assured that the state is protected and will soon return to 2022 levels.

During the delivery of new units for Fuerza Civil, the governor pointed out that the increase in homicides is not a problem exclusive to Nuevo León, and is due to the change in administration of the federal Government and strategies, moments that criminal groups take advantage of, according to García.

“This situation (of many homicides) will soon pass and we will return to the figures of 2022, we have the rule of law and together we will move forward,” said the state leader.
By ensuring that Fuerza Civil today has a thousand new patrol units, 80 armored Black Mambas, advanced medical care ambulances and 10 helicopters, García Sepúlveda stressed that Nuevo León is protected.

“I can tell you with certainty that Nuevo León will continue to be unstoppable and Nuevo León is now protected. We have a state of force and a state of law that, together with the Police, the new Civil Force, the best Police in Mexico, coordinated with the Army, will continue to have a frank dialogue with the State Attorney General’s Office for the common good; above all, the security of Nuevo León comes first,” said García Sepúlveda.
“The only thing pending is the new Fuerza Civil building, which will be a 20-story building, it will be its headquarters, it will have the new C5, the Sintram and Gerardo Escamilla’s office,” he added.
He recalled that in these three years of administration they have had greater recruitment, better benefits, better gyms and more benefits for the elements.

Finally, he indicated that in September, when Claudia Sheinbaum reveals who will be in charge of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) and the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), he will meet with them and Omar García Harfuch, to define what strategy to follow and guarantee the security of the state.

There is only one command

During the event, Governor García also referred to the recent constitutional reform that transforms the structure of public security in the state.

As of October 1, 2022, the Secretariat of Public Security was replaced by the new Civil Force, centralizing the command in a single entity under the direction of Gerardo Escamilla Vargas.

“This reform that comes into force eliminates the Secretariat of Public Security and today there is a single entity that is the new Civil Force, its head Gerardo Escamilla is the head of the Secretariat and the new Civil Force,” he explained.

The governor stressed that, unlike previous years where there were multiple commands and directorates within the security apparatus, the new structure seeks to eliminate fragmentation and ensure greater coordination in security tasks.

“Unlike previous years when there were islands, when there was a Secretary of Security, when there was a commissioner of Fuerza Civil, when there was a director of the UCS, when there was a director of the penitentiary center, when there was a director of C5 and everything was, let’s say, disjointed, the new head of the new Fuerza Civil is one person and today commanded by Gerardo Escamilla,” said the president.

The event was attended by Javier Navarro, Secretary General of Government; General Antonio Melchor Ruiz, commander of the Seventh Military Zone; General Juan José Montiel, commander of the Fourth Military Police Brigade and State Coordinator of the National Guard in Nuevo León; Gonzalo Sánchez, state delegate of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic; and Alfredo Fabela, head of the General Commissariat of Fuerza Civil.
