After the construction of the oven, the night before, they began with the preparation for cooking the meat, then around 1:00 p.m. on August 12, attendees were able to enjoy the so-called largest barbecue in Mexico, in which more than 67 sheep were used, which came from local pastures, guaranteeing a product of the highest quality and authentic Hidalgo flavor.

In addition to 200 chickens that were prepared ximbo style, accompanied by 1,500 liters of broth; all free of charge.

In addition to this event, visitors enjoyed the gastronomic, religious and cultural program that the community put on for its patron saint festivities.

The event not only focused on breaking records, but also on showing the world that the best barbecue is prepared in Actopan, a town that has established itself as the birthplace and icon of this traditional dish.
