Residents of the Coyuquilla Norte community in the municipality of Petatlán on the Costa Grande of Guerrero, carried out a blockade on the Acapulco-Zihuatanejo highway, to demand greater security and the repair of potholes.
At 9:00 in the morning, the residents placed a trailer near the town’s taxi stand, meters before the vehicular bridge to prevent vehicular traffic and thereby exert pressure on the authorities to obtain a positive response to their demands.
The protesters claim that in recent days there has been an increase in security incidents in the area, and the presence of the National Guard, the Mexican Army and the State Police is necessary, especially on surveillance tours.

In addition, they claimed that the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) has not done anything to repair the large potholes that exist throughout the federal highway, this situation has caused a series of accidents with a balance of dead and injured people.
The lines of motorists reached long distances and the annoyance of drivers was inevitable, some of whom even verbally confronted the protesters, although it was of no use because they did not remove the blockade.
