Puppies abandoned for sensitivity to sunlight in El Salto

327

Some puppies were abandoned in a sack and left to die in the embers of the sun. Abril, Miguel Ángel, Rafael and Donatelo were thrown on the El Salto highway, as if they were garbage, because they cannot see well and so they could not be sold.

The reason for their blindness; a forced cross between an albino border collie, which modified their genetics and left them with severe vision problems, unable to expose their eyes to sunlight.

In order to do so, they will have to wear special glasses all their lives.

“They are breeders who have no scruples, no idea of what they are doing and these little ones are born with certain types of damage. They cannot go out in the sun, run, sunbathe, because their eyes hurt a lot, it causes problems with burns, cataracts,” said Dimas Alexander Claros, veterinarian at Clinican.
Crossbreeding dogs is one of the most common practices that has been done deliberately for years, and has even become fashionable, despite the suffering and pain that it can cause for the puppies.

Although this type of practice can be considered an act of animal cruelty, a crime that is punishable by jail, it is not specified in the law, so it continues to be carried out with impunity.

In the case of these puppies, fortunately they are already well, with their complete vaccination protocol and ready to be adopted by a family that will give them all the love and special care they need.

If you are interested in changing their lives and giving them a new home, you can apply for adoption directly with the Buenos Chicos Shelter.
