The case of “Gringo” has been spread on social media. He was a dog that was attacked with a machete in the metropolitan area of Boca del Río, Veracruz. The animal is stable, but lost an ear due to the severity of the injuries.
Through Facebook, Martha Cortés shared how the events occurred on August 11, when the homeless dog was attacked.
“Hello, my name is Gringo, I am a homeless dog. On the night of August 11 in Veracruz, a guy hit me with a machete, causing me to lose a lot of blood and a piece of my ear.”
The woman detailed in her post that the dog was taken to the veterinarian to receive medical attention, but now requires treatment.
“It was early Sunday morning and there was no clinic to treat me, so they had to take me to a private dog hospital, which with their help managed to get the first $5,800 pesos so they could treat me. Unfortunately, with the tests they performed on me, they realized that I have a worm parasite and that puts my life at greater risk.”
The woman explains that they need the support of citizens to continue with “Gringo’s” treatment.
