As of epidemiological week 31 of 2024, there were 519 cases of dengue in Nuevo León, of which 60.11 percent were registered in the municipalities of Guadalupe and Monterrey.
According to the report of the Ministry of Health at the federal level called “Epidemiological Panorama of Dengue”, this year 160 cases were reported in Guadalupe and 158 in Monterrey, for a total of 318 of the 519 cases in the state.
According to the official source, in Nuevo León as of week 31 there was a cumulative total of 519 cases in 2024 and one of 17 in 2023, that is, an increase this year of 2,952.94 percent.
Regarding the total number of cases in the state, the authority specified, 349 cases were classified as non-severe dengue (DNG), 144 as dengue with warning signs (DCSA) and 26 as severe dengue (DG).
While in relation to the most affected municipalities, 100 cases of non-severe dengue and 60 of the sum of the cases of dengue with warning signs and severe dengue were reported in Guadalupe.
For its part, Monterrey closed this period of the year 2024 with 106 cases of non-severe dengue and 52 together of the so-called DCSA and DG.
It should be noted that the municipality of Anáhuac is the one that appears, in the official statistics, as the municipality of Nuevo León with the highest rate of dengue cases with 19.24, however, due to only 4 confirmed cases.
Santa Catarina in third place
Regarding the municipal board, Santa Catarina stands out in third place, with 52 confirmed cases, 39 of them of non-severe dengue and 13 of dengue with warning signs and severe dengue.
Finally, the data show that in Mexico, as of week 31 of the year 2023, there was a cumulative number of dengue cases of 8,291, compared to 30,951 that have accumulated in the aforementioned week but in the year 2024, a national increase of 273.30 percent.
