Due to this situation, the operators, also known as Gruyeros, confronted the uniformed officers using high-tonnage cranes to block the central lanes and stop the flow of vehicles.
The situation intensified with the arrival of more National Guard agents, which led to a confrontation where firearms were visible.

Witnesses reported that federal agents fired both at the tires of the cranes and into the air to disperse the protesters. In addition, a National Guard helicopter was observed flying over the area during the conflict.
